A Warm Welcome to the Costa Blanca

The attractiveness of the Costa Blanca did not begin with the 20th century holiday maker flying or driving in from home. The entire region possesses approximately 3000 years of visitors leaving a piece of history behind beginning with the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, the Iberians, the Moors and now you. Thirty years ago, only those in the know outside of Spain were aware of the White Coast of Spain.

The Costa Blanca has certainly developed in the tourism sector since the original arrivals, yet it is still one of those places you are never entirely in the past or present. Time exists in this fascinating duality in many of its surrounding villages as well as the popular tourist towns. The mild winters and brilliant summers allow the beach pueblos and the adjourning areas to remain popular with holiday makers year-round.

The Costa Blanca is located in the Valencia region, esteem home of the world famous rice dish, Paella. There is something to offer everyone, whether for the youngest or oldest member. And be assured that after one visit, you will continue to flock to the Costa Blanca for more. There are amusement and theme parks, castles, art galleries, nightclubs, golf courses, boating, casinos and historical sites. Lest not forget the fiestas. Each town celebrates their own version of the Christian and Moors, Las Fallas and other carnivals filled with costumes, music and folklore.

The Costa Blanca presenting a wide range of places to stay, each new visit can entail a different agenda for you. If city life is your primary option then there's Alicante and Murcia , of which manage to be both large and intimate at the same time. Here you will find modern hotels, major shopping and museums. Perhaps you may prefer small villages and towns. You'll stumble on many, each with its own unique charm that are filled with history, delicious food, superb wine, brilliant art and breathtaking terrain. There is always the option of residing in a holiday rental, shop at the mercado for fresh fruits and vegetables and live like a native in the land of endless sun.

Alicante is the dividing point between the north and south regions of the Costa Blanca. From Alicante heading north, this area is broken down again by two sections known as La Marina Baja and La Marina Alta. La Marina Baja begins at Alicante and ends at the famous and lively Benidorm. Marina Alta starts at Altea heading north to the costal town of Denia . Southern Costa Blanca begins at Alicante heading south consisting of all the towns to the end of the region at Murcia .

Costa Blanca Restaurants food will never be a problem as there are thousands of dining options and not only restricted to Spanish cuisine. Many hotels have full and half board with wonderful buffets dining alternatives that can please the most discriminating palate.

Costa Blanca Beaches if you like beaches, you'll be spoilt for choice. The Mediterranean Sea is not only there, but it is beautiful and animated with an unexplainable tri-colour of azure. The air is nice and fresh early in the mornings, tranquil and relaxed during siestas, vibrant and warm in the evenings. And when evening comes one can go down to the playa, sit down on a bench and watch the fishing vessels go out for their catch, while observing the moon playing in the water and listen to the splashes of the waves. If you arise early enough, head back to watch the fisherman sell their catch at the auctions.

Most of the beaches on the Costa Blanca boast the highly desirable Blue Flag for the best of the best when it comes to beaches. Beaches can be busy and hopping, as in a popular choice as Benidorm, for getting your feet wet along the Costa Blanca with plenty of action, sand castles and water sports. If Benidorm is too busy for your taste, a quiet retreat such as Guardamar would be the ideal opposite with its fourteen kilometres of unspoilt natural shore and not a skyscraper hotel in sight! Then there's also La Marina, Torrevieja, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and the list goes on and on. These are just some of the diversions on offer in this lovely part of Spain.

Be inspired, book your viewingtrip and discover your ideal location along the Costa Blanca now.
